The vaccine will be given to advanced health workers, nursing homes, and those over 80 before in the Uk Pfizer has confirmed to CNBC that the Uk will first purchase some 800,000 guns at its Puurs, Belgium manufacturing plant. The vaccine was developed by pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and BioNTech and is one of 11 vaccines currently in its final stages of testing. There are different types of vaccines under development. They all teach our immune systems how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19. Sometimes this process can lead to symptoms such as a fever. These symptoms are normal and a sign that the body is building up protection against COVID-19.

We know about the vaccines

There are four major candidates under consideration in the UK that have shown promising results. A partnership between Pfizer and BioNTech, Moderna, Oxford University, and AstraZeneca, the latest entry is provided by Novavax. Currently, the COVID-19 vaccine is being deployed at that rate throughout the UK. People in the priority group are vaccinated daily, and the goal of immunizing 15 million of the most vulnerable people by mid-February has already been achieved.

Who should have the coronavirus vaccines

Some people are more likely to get sick from the coronavirus than others. If you are one of them, you will be vaccinated.

Some of the people who are likely to be in poor health include:

  • People who live in nursing homes
  • People over 65
  • Adults with Down Syndrome

The vaccine is also provided to adults in the following health conditions:

  • Kidney and liver problems
  • Heart disease
  • Some brain conditions
  • Respiratory disorders such as severe asthma (use of steroid tablets)

Vaccination depends on your condition and its severity.

This list is not exhaustive. If you are likely to feel sick, your doctor should have told you. If the coronavirus is in a condition that is likely to cause a serious illness, it is called “clinically very vulnerable”. This means that you can get a coronavirus injection faster than anyone else.
